Lisa Faye Petak joined the firm in 2018 as an associate in the litigation department. Her practice is focused on general litigation matters, including civil litigation, real estate and probate disputes, and wrongful termination. Prior to joining Mullen & Henzell, Lisa served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Otis D. Wright, II, U.S. District Judge for the Central District of California. She also litigated plaintiff-side mass tort cases and environmental and consumer class actions in New York City, Seattle, and Santa Barbara and has argued before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Originally from Colorado, Lisa worked for a national women’s reproductive rights non-profit and then The New York Times in Washington, DC before moving back west for law school. As a member of the third graduating class of the University of California, Irvine School of Law, she chaired the Women’s Law Society, served as President of the Moot Court Board, and advocated for her classmates as President of the Student Bar Association. She is a former competitive figure skater, and is often found in Goleta’s Ice in Paradise ice arena.

Community Involvement

Lisa is a past board member for the UC Irvine School of Law Alumni Association, and remains active in supporting her alma mater.
