Lisa F. Petak

Lisa Faye Petak joined the firm in 2018 as an associate in the litigation department. Her practice focuses on general litigation matters, with particular focus on trusts and estates, real estate, and landlord-tenant disputes. Prior to joining Mullen & Henzell, Lisa served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Otis D. Wright, II, U.S. District Judge for the Central District of California. She has also litigated plaintiff-side mass tort cases and environmental and consumer class actions in New York City, Seattle, and Santa Barbara and has argued before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Originally from Colorado, Lisa worked for a national women’s reproductive rights non-profit and then The New York Times in Washington, DC before moving back west for law school. As a member of the third graduating class of the University of California, Irvine School of Law, she chaired the Women’s Law Society, served as President of the Moot Court Board, and advocated for her classmates as President of the Student Bar Association. A former competitive figure skater, she enjoys spending her free time at Goleta’s Ice in Paradise ice arena and exploring Santa Barbara’s beaches with her husband and their two children.
